What is Geopolitics?

According to the Merriam-webster dictionary, Geopolitics is the study of the influence of such factors as geography, economics, and demography on politics and especially a state's foreign policy.
The word geopolitics was originally coined by the Swedish political scientist Rudolf Kjellén about the turn of the 20th century, and its use spread throughout Europe in the period between World Wars I and II (1918–39) and came into worldwide use during the latter.

In today's world understanding Geopolitics has become important for us to understand International affairs and to know the working of the diplomatic machinery of one's own country.
